The DC-based rapper’s new single is a haunting tale of death in his city.

Laced with mournful piano keys and heartbreaking news clips, this record is a reflection of years of tragic outcomes that have yet to be adequately addressed. It’s a tale of countless innocent lives lost.

In under three minutes, Stealf paints several painful stories in his verse. From family functions turning to deadly altercations, to the necessity of running through red lights to flee what could be a fatal encounter, this is a powerful message that reflects on the traumatic scars that gun violence leaves on the collective psyche of the Black community. Though it is a difficult subject to broach, Stealf uses his voice to weigh in on the issue with sincerity.

Standout line: “Turn on the news, they breaking the story live/The only victim’s innocent, shorty was only five.”

Stream Big Stealf’s new single exclusively on Audiomack. While you’re thinking of it, be sure to give him a follow as well.
